Due to the Covid 19 situation, all normal group classes have been suspended for the time being, however there are plenty of opportunities to get your circus on with us .... Read on:
It is so important that we all remain active and keep our brains challenged during these unusual circumstances to maintain good physical and mental health. We at sweet circus have a range of Covid safe resources for you all as well as classes to keep you social through all of this.
Sweet Circus in the park – Small group sessions:
We are desperately keen to work with you all in person again. As I am sure you can imagine it is going to be a challenge with social distancing, sanitation, and indeed the weather to work around which is why we are going to be starting slowly and cautiously. As things are tried and tested we will add more and more sessions.
Sweet Circus Youth Group: We will be running these at Seaside rec on a Wednesday afternoon starting Weds 17th June. Once you have booked, we will divide you into groups and let you know your time. And Yes! You can request to be in the same group as your friends 😊
Learn to Juggle: We will be running our first sessions on Wednesday evenings at Longland Road Rec in old town starting Weds 17th June. We plan to add a Friday morning session at Seaside Rec from the following week.
How it will work:
Classes will have a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 5 participants and will last approximately 45mins. Due to the number restrictions ‘drop-ins’ will not be possible and you will have to book in advance by text / messenger / email. If a session is full, a second session will be made available either before or after. All classes will cost £3.50 per person, payment can be made in advance via our website / paypal or you can bring the correct cash on the day (no change is available). If your class is cancelled due to bad weather, you will receive a class credit for the next class. As the numbers are so limited, we ask that you do attend any classes you book.
Equipment sharing is no longer allowed so we are encouraging you to purchase and bring your own equipment. We do have a LIMITED amount of equipment you can borrow at a cost of £1.50 per session due to the sanitising required between uses, however, if you are experiencing financial hardship as a result of corona virus do get in touch, we will make equipment available to you without charge.
Initially we will be working with equipment from our learn to juggle kits and we are developing a circus essentials kit. Anything outside of these kits we will supply and sanitise.
Please be aware that the toilets are not yet open in most public green spaces!!
Up to 5 persons can be in a private session (this includes parents and any siblings) and will cost £10 for approximately 45 minutes.
1 - 2 - 1s - Circus Fit, conditioning, ground skills tuition are all available to book now.
Aerial - We can currently only offer Aerial Hoop lessons in our garden on a portable rig. Instructors will have to remain socially distant, meaning that parents will be required to spot younger children under the supervision and instruction of Miz our lead instructor. These sessions will be quite different from normal classes, we will focus on conditioning, strength and perfecting the foundations of aerial technique. Some ground skills can be included for students who desire this. Some of our studios are planning to start opening in July at which point private aerial sessions will move back into the studio.
Circus Play – Circus play makes a great family session but is also available to small groups of friends (with social distancing observed) is also available as a private session for up to 5 people, and is great as a family session. These sessions can take place either in your garden (Eastbourne area) or in an Eastbourne park.
To book any of the above please contact us directly as we do not have an appropriate booking system set up on the website yet. You will need to complete a health questionnaire and waiver before attending your first class.

Pop over to our channel and take a look, it really helps us out if you can subscribe to the channel too, you'll need a YouTube account to do this but it is quick and free to set that up!

Strings and Balls Circus Club:
If you Circus .... If you socialise ... If you want a space to jam, share skills and generally have a good circussy time THIS IS FOR YOU!! Wednesdays 6 - 7pm at St Elisabeth's Church, Victoria Drive.
Strings and Balls is a new weekly Circus Club in Eastbourne. While the club itself will have a very small door fee (like £1), the first session on 4th March is entirely FREE. This is a club for circus people by circus people rather than a workshop or class. Any one over the age of 18 with some basic or better circus skills is welcome to join the club!
The club is designed for adults but we do make exceptions. We realise that there are some young people who are both mature enough and committed to developing their skills and would benefit from such an opportunity....If you think this applies to you please get in touch and we will see what we can do!
Sweet Circus will supply a range of circus props but you are encouraged to bring your own.
